Latest project at newly expanded downtown Bellevue hotel adds LED letters to S. elevation sign

Kirkland, WA /prbuzz/  January 5, 2011 — After a recent 185 million dollar expansion featuring a new guest tower and more than 53,000 square feet of event space, engineers at the downtown Bellevue Hyatt Regency needed to deal with a branding sign high above the south elevation of the property.  Based on their previous experience, the decision was made to award the bid to The Sign Factory.

“The original letters on the south sign were neon and 20 years old,” said John Hope, Director of Engineering.  “After several repairs and replacement of letters, it made more sense to upgrade to LED.” Hope had worked with The Sign Factory to create LED letters for the branding sign on the north elevation of the property.

John and his team put the project out to bid and again chose The Sign Factory team.  “They submitted a good bid and provided the chance to make our branding signage consistent,” he said. “Equally important was they were very responsive to our needs, unlike a previous company.”

The installation will be a little tricky and is scheduled to be completed by early next year.  “We are able to pull off these types of projects thanks in part to help from excellent companies like Spider Staging,” said Jim Risher, President, The Sign Factory.  “The sign is located outside of the 27thfloor and will require some experience to install new LED letters without damaging the integrity of the building.”

The initial project to replace letters on the exterior branding sign on the north elevation of the property was the result of a working relationship between The Sign Factory and Kemper Development.
